RULES AND ETIQUETTE

At Stonegoat, we are a welcoming community where respect and safety come first. To keep it that way:

  • Treat everyone with respect.

  • Be mindful of personal space and noise. 

  • Follow all posted rules and crew guidance. 

  • Zero tolerance for violence or intimidation.

  • Everyone must check in and complete a waiver before entering the climbing area. 

GENERAL RULES

1. Pets are allowed within the café, reception, and toilet area only and must be in a cart.
2. Follow all instructions from the gym crew and listen to announcements.
3. The consumption of banned substances is strictly prohibited.
4. Smoking and use of e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited in the area.
5. Respect the equipment, facilities and clean up after yourself.

FITNESS AREA

1. Children under the age of 16 are prohibited from using this area without direct supervision from an adult.
2. Only attempt exercises that are within your ability level and do not take unnecessary risks.
3. Be mindful of your safety and the safety of those around you when using this area.
4. Clean up after yourself - wipe down benches, equipment, and bars after use.
5. Return all equipment and weights to its rightful location after use.
6. Do not drop or throw weights down on the floor.

TOILET & SHOWER

1. Take off your climbing shoes before entering.
2. Do not squat on the toilet seats.
3. Dispose of toilet paper, facial tissue, wet wipes in the designated bins.
4. Do not flush toilet paper, facial tissue, wet wipes, sanitary pads, and tampons.
5. Do not use the hand bidet or sink area to wash your feet. Showers are equipped with a tap for foot washing.
6. Help us save the environment by using less hand towels and toilet paper.

CLIMBING AREA

1. Entrance to the climbing area is only permitted to climbers who have signed in at the front desk.
2. If you have any health issues, please enquire with the gym crew before climbing.
3. Climb only at designated areas. Do not attempt to or climb on or contact the metal support structures behind the wall, stair rails, roofing or areas designated as “No Top Out”.
4. Do not tamper with or remove climbing holds and wall structure.
5. Only attempt climbs that are within your ability level. Be aware of your limitations and do not take unnecessary risks.
6. Climbing shoes are required when climbing on the wall.
7. Outside footwear is not allowed in this area.
8.Be aware that holds may spin or break. In the event of such incidents, please inform the gym crew immediately.
9.Jumping off from top-out areas is prohibited.
10. Be aware of potential fall zones and do not sit in or near fall areas on the mat.
11. Children under the age of 13 are required to be under direct supervision of the parental or legal guardian when climbing.
12. No wrestling, acrobatics or running in the climbing gym.
13. No screaming or yelling.
14. Be respectful and mindful of other climber’s space and safety.
15. Glass containers, food and drink in open containers are not allowed in the climbing area.
16. Keep all bottles, drinks, and personal belongings off the climbing mats.
17. Climbing or exercising while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited.
18. If you observe any problems or have a concern about any equipment, or the conduct of another visitor or crew, immediately notify our crew.

ADDITIONAL RULES FOR MINORS

1. Under 5: Not allowed in the climbing area.
2. Ages 5–7: Allowed only in the Seed Garden area at Stonegoat The PARQ with close supervision of an adult.
3. Ages 8–12: Allowed to climb in all areas with adult supervision (1 adult supervises maximum 2 climbers).
4. Ages 13-16: Allowed to climb in all areas.
5. Under 16: Not allowed to use fitness equipment without direct supervision of an adult.
6. All minors must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
7. All other rules and regulations also apply to minors.

SAFETY INSTRUCTION
1. Keep fall zones clear
Do not sit or walk in fall zones, or leave belongings, tripod, phone and bottle in fall zones.
Be aware of fall zones as you walk around corners.

2. Be mindful of the space around you
- Do not start a climb if another climber is climbing nearby or on a crossing route. Wait until they finish before starting your climb.
- Do not run or play on the mats.
- Beware of hazards.
- Beware of any route setting activity or construction work, and steer clear of it. 

3. Use all holds to down climb as far as possible
Dismount from the wall at a height that you are comfortable with.

ETIQUETTE

Take turns when climbing.

Do not use too much chalk.

Do not bring the chalk ball out of the chalk bag.

Brush the holds after use.

Return brushes back to its place.

Do not spray beta.
